I watched《Home Schooling》again tonight. I write down the brief content of it as follows.
今天晚上,我又看了一遍《在家教育》.我把这一集的内容简要记录如下.
Jason and Maggie were asked to meet Ben’s headmaster. They were very familiar with the headmaster, because Mike had graduated from the same school. And During Mike was at high school, they were always asked to meet the headmaster.
詹森和麦姬被叫去见本的校长.他们对那位校长已经非常熟悉了.因为迈克也是从那所高中毕业的.而当迈克在那里读高中的时候,他们经常被叫去见校长.
Although they had already accustomed to listen to the headmaster complained about their kids’ annoy problems, it was still astonished them when they heard the reason why they were asked to school again. As a matter of fact, Ben had skipped classes for three months. And he ordered six students to pretend as him to attend those classes, English, Spanish, Science, Physical Education, Algebra and Shop. Of course, Ben was suspended for two weeks.
虽然他们已经习惯了听校长报怨他们的孩子有多么的烦人.但是,当他们听了把他们叫到学校去的原因之后,仍然吃了一惊.事实上,本已经逃学三个月了.他叫了六位学生冒充他去选修了这些课程:英语,西班牙语,科学,体育,代数以及购物.当然啦,本被停学两周.
Therefore Maggie taught Ben at home for those two weeks. It turned out that Ben could learn well. Maggie thought that Ben had done better in those two weeks than he had ever done at Dewey. So Maggie decided to teach Ben at home by herself.
因此,麦姬在家里教了本两周.事实证明,本是可以学好的.麦姬认为本在家里呆的两周时间内所学到的知识,比在杜威高中所有的时间里学到的都要多.于是,麦姬决定亲自在家中教本学习.
After all, two months were different from two weeks. As Ben stayed at home a litter longer, his behavior was not satisfied with Maggie little by little. Just as Maggie was hesitating about her decision, Dewey High’s headmaster came to her house and applauded her. The headmaster said to Maggie,‘For the first time in my career I have seen a parent do something right. You took control of your son’s life when he needed it most. All I can say is I just wish that all the parents of all the students in all the classrooms around the world, would take them home and teach them.’
毕竟,两个月跟两个星期是不一样的.随着本呆在家里的时间延长,麦姬对他的表现越来越不满意.就在麦姬正在犹豫,究竟自己的决定是不是正确的时候,杜威高中的校长到她家里去为她鼓掌喝彩去了.校长对麦姬说：“在我的教育生涯中,这是我第一次看到有父母总算做正确了一些事情.你在你儿子最需要的时候恰如其分地控制住了他的行为,我唯一想的就是,我真心地希望,如果全世界所有的父母,都能把他们在学校里读书的孩子带回家中去教育,那该有多好呀!”
At last, Ben admitted that he liked to study with his mother. But he was afraid that his friends called he was a mommy boy. Of course, Maggie helped him solving the problem.
最后,本承认,他喜欢跟他妈妈在一起学习.但是他担心他那些朋友们叫他妈妈宝贝.当然,麦姬帮助他解决了问题.
